Orlando, FL: City OKs $3.8M transportation project
The Orlando City Council met and approved a $3.8 million Intelligent Transportation System design/build master plan project funded by the federal stimulus program.
According to city documents, the project includes the installation of video detection equipment at 29 intersections, upgrading traffic signals, and installing aerial and underground fiber-optic cable to connect the transportation system in the area bordered by State Road 50, Kaley Street, Rosalind Avenue and Westmoreland Drive.

$140,000 secured for Wilmington PD (OH) to increase public safety

The IBM Digital Video Surveillance system, unveiled recently at a research facility at Madhapur in India, can detect real time those who wield weapons and anyone placing a potential bomb. The system can monitor and analyse video sequences either in real time or from recordings and react appropriately, depending on how it is programmed.
