In 2007, the city of Knoxville boasted that their red light camera program had brought 995,013 dollars into its coffers and reduced accidents by 18 percent. They had 15 intersections outfitted with Red Flex cameras at that time. Since then, Knoxvile has changed over to the Laser Craft company and is expanding the program to include more intersections and has generated 2.6 million dollars in fifty dollar fines in 2008.
