A lot of video surveillance products look the same. The reason may be becuase they literally are the same. Big Western manufacturers routinely buy and re-brand a small number of Asian products.

Atherton residents offered police access to security cameras during burglaries
Atherton police are now offering residents a chance to link their home security cameras to the department, allowing officers to provide a "virtual response" to alarms. Residents who sign up will be added to the same Internet camera network police use to surveil public areas. Dispatchers will have the ability to instantly tap into video footage when a residential alarm is tripped.

Who will watch the watchers? 13,000 intelligent cameras in Taipei
The National Police Agency plans to build “electronic city walls” throughout Taiwan by installing surveillance cameras nationwide over the next five years. The Ministry of the Interior has also launched a NT$1 billion (US$29.5 million) project to integrate surveillance camera systems, and Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin (郝龍斌) announced on April 8 that his government would spend NT$1.6 billion to install 13,000 “intelligent,” high-performance cameras in the city.

Carlsbad (NM); video surveillance in schools

Dallas surveillance cameras cut crime but are costly to monitor
Spend time in downtown Dallas, and there's an increasingly good chance your movements will be caught on city surveillance cameras. Less certain is whether a police officer will be watching at the other end of that video feed. The cameras have multiplied since the program began two years ago, and Dallas police say they have reduced crime.

Driving through Missouri City will soon be easier, now that the city has given the green light to a multi-million dollar Intelligent Transportation System project. At its April 6 meeting, the Missouri City Council authorized a $335,000 contract for the project’s design to the engineering firm, Walter P. Moore.

Money for transportation projects has been some of the earliest to flow from the U.S. economic stimulus package.
